African Diaries / Cybele Forest Lodge in South Africa

This is a British Series which takes us on several trips to African Reserves. It’s a bit over the top and not my taste, but at least we do get to see a little bit of Africa.

Show text: Cybele is spared the sweltering summer heat ofthe South African lowveld but there is still an air of subtropical lushness about the plants, indigenous trees and shrubs. It is a fascinating part of South Africa close to the exquisite Mac-Mac and other falls as well as Pilgrims Rest, one of the historic old towns in the vicinity. At Cybele Forest Lodge, you leave your heart behind, so you have to come back to retrieve it again and again. At the Saxon, Here South Africas beloved first president, Nelson Mandela, or Madiba as he is lovingly known by his people, wrote his moving and compelling autobiography A Long Walk to Freedom.
