(via:un.org) “Nobel Laureate and United Nations Messenger of Peace Elie Wiesel, along with actor George Clooney will address the Security Council on the crisis in Darfur during a closed-door session on Thursday”, officials with the world body announced today.
On Monday, Secretary-General Kofi Annan warned the Security Council that the situation in Darfur has reached a critical moment. It is vital that we all speak candidly about what is happening, and about what it will take to bring an end to the suffering of so many millions of people, he said, appealing for the Sudanese Government to accept a UN force, but the Khartoum Government remains opposed. Vanity Fair has obtained copies of the just released 9/11 NORAD Tapes and has posted them on their website for you to hear along with the full transcripts.
It is quite shocking and very different from the impressions given in the news reports and claims from the U.S. Government all these years.
The exercises of running multiple war games of planes being mock-hijacked and crashed into the same high profile targets that morning as happened in real life effectively confused and created chaos that delayed NORAD’s response. Just as what happened with the mock drills of train bombings that took place in London at the exact same time as the real bombings. Improbable extremely unlucky coincidence or necessary intended diversion? NORAD successfully intercepted and scrambled air force jets around planes that entered restricted air space or went off course 67 times between September 2000 and June 2001. Why not on September 11th were they able to scramble jets on time with any of the off course planes? That day, NORAD had access to only 4 fighter jets for the entire Eastern Seaboard. No shoot-down permission was ever granted that day by the relaxed military command.

Some staff members and commissioners of the Sept. 11 panel concluded that the Pentagon’s initial story of how it reacted to the 2001 terrorist attacks may have been part of a deliberate effort to mislead the commission and the public rather than a reflection of the fog of events on that day, according to sources involved in the debate.
Suspicion of wrongdoing ran so deep that the 10-member commission, in a secret meeting at the end of its tenure in summer 2004, debated referring the matter to the Justice Department for criminal investigation, according to several commission sources. Staff members and some commissioners thought that e-mails and other evidence provided enough probable cause to believe that military and aviation officials violated the law by making false statements to Congress and to the commission, hoping to hide the bungled response to the hijackings, these sources said.

August 3, 2006 — More than one-third of Americans suspect federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East, according to a new poll.
The survey also found that 16 percent of Americans speculate that secretly planted explosives, not burning passenger jets, were the real reason the massive Twin Towers of the World Trade Center collapsed.
The national Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll of 1,010 adults also found that anger against the federal government is at record levels, with 54 percent saying they “personally are more angry” at the government than they used to be.
Mineral Makeup is the hottest new trend in Makeup Fashion. From MAC to Urban Decay, Physicians Formula, Bare Escentuals, Jane Iredale, everyone seems to be offering mineral lines now. People love the purity, versatility, and lightness of the makeup. It doesn’t feel like you have anything on, it’s not heavy or oily like standard makeup. It doesn’t clog the pores or need any chemicals or preservatives that can cause skin reactions, breakouts and health concerns. The purist products are pure crushed minerals with nothing added. NY Times recently reported on this new Beauty Trend:
Sign the fur-free pledge and you’ll be automatically entered to win a trip for two (including airfare, lodging, and tickets) to join Jay McCarroll in New York City at his fur-free fashion show on September 15, sponsored by The Humane Society of the United States!
Wearing fur or fur trim is cruel and unnecessary. Help save foxes, rabbits, and other furbearers from suffering in the name of “fashion” by signing the fur-free pledge. Whether caught in steel traps in the wild or anally electrocuted after life in a cage on a fur farm, these animals suffer immensely. When compassionate consumers like you take a stand against cruelty by refusing to purchase fur or fur trim, designers will stop using fur, retailers will stop selling it, and fashion writers will stop reporting on it as an acceptable trend. You have that power with every purchase you make.
RUSSIANS BAN MICROWAVE OVENS
After the World War II, the Russians also experimented with microwave ovens. From 1957 up to recently, their research has been carried out mainly at the Institute of Radio Technology at Klinsk, Byelorussia. According to US researcher William Kopp, who gathered much of the results of Russian and German research – and was apparently prosecuted for doing so (J. Nat. Sci, 1998; 1:42-3) – the following effects were observed by Russian forensic teams:
NFL may claim that they have the lowest prices on raw and living food products anywhere, Guaranteed! However, I don’t think they can compete with an Amazon.
For Cacao Powder for instance you can get 16oz of it from Nature’s First Law for $29.95. Or you can go to Amazon and get a 16oz bag of Organic Raw Cacao Powder for only $12.50. They also have 16oz bags of Organic Raw Cacao Nibs for $12.50.
I’m not trying to pick on NFL, but it just shows what great deals these are that you can find for these ingredients. It’s important because it helps to know that even some of the more indulgent recipes on GreenChefs can be affordable if you can find good sources for the ingredients. These are the best prices I’ve seen on Agave Nectar and Raw Cacao Powder. Health food stores near me that carry the 17oz bottles of Madhava Agave are about $7 each. With this deal they are less then $3 each.
There are many other great deals on Raw and Organic Food on Amazon that are a big saving from Whole Foods etc. I’ll highlight more good ones later. It’s worth checking out. They also offer Free Shipping and currently are offering $10 off any grocery order over $49. Use the code grocery2 when checking out.

“SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 12 /U.S. Newswire/ — North Dakota and California are in a race to be the first state in the U.S. to grow industrial hemp since Wisconsin grew the last hemp crop nearly 50 years ago. This week, each state will conduct important public hearings on the subject. The California Senate Public Safety Committee holds a hearing Tuesday, June 13, 2006, on AB 1147, a bill that would affirmatively grant farmers the right to grow industrial hemp to produce seed and fiber, while North Dakota’s Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson holds a public hearing on Thursday, June 15, 2006, about rules expected to be finalized later this year that would license farmers to grow hemp under existing state law.
The hearings are taking place in the shadow of Canadian hemp farming which has seen steady growth in the last 6 years. This year, Canada is growing a record 40,000 acres of industrial hemp. Nevertheless, rumors persist that the demand for hemp seed from U.S. food producers — whose sales are growing 50 percent each year — will create seed shortages before harvest again this summer, forcing buyers to go to Europe or China for seed. “American farmers are tired of looking around the world to see farmers making healthy profits growing hemp for export to the U.S. They want change,” says Vote Hemp President Eric Steenstra.”
