Week 2 | Lori Painter Raw Food Diet Bikini Challenge

lori painter bikini challenge week2 Week 2 | Lori Painter Raw Food Diet Bikini Challenge

Week 2 of my Raw Food Diet Bikini Challenge. (see week 1 and intro)

What is this bikini body challenge all about? Lori said: “I am documenting my weight loss bikini body journey with a motivation to look good naked. My desire for a lean green clean machine is through raw foods and fun balancing workouts. Looking good naked may seem superficial, however our bodies are a reflection of self love and respect. Making the world a better place starts within us. Cleaning up the planet starts with clean people. How can we create a clean green planet if we don’t do the same with our own bodies? My aim is to inspire others to act in ways that honor their bodies and the planet at the same time. A clean body clears the mind to conscious growth and a healthy planet.”

Weigh In
131.8 (down 2 lbs since Day 1)

Overall, that is a loss of 1.75 inches in just over a week. This is fantastic and I need to remember that my efforts are not going unnoticed even if I make a poor diet choice here and there. My good efforts far outweigh the negative ones.

Video Update Number 3

Measurements

  • Bust: 35.5″ (down .25″)
  • Waist: 28.5″ (down . 25″)
  • Navel: 31″ (down .75″)
  • Hips: 38″ (down . 25″)
  • Thighs: 22.5 (down . 50″)
  • Upper arm: 11 (same)
  • Calf: 13.75″ (up .25″)
  • Workout

  • Goal: 6 hours
  • Total: 11 1/2
  • Met goal and exceeded by 5 1/2 hours (Woo hoo!)

    Water

  • Goal: 21 quarts
  • Total: 25 quarts
  • Met goal and exceeded by 4 quarts (Woo hoo!)

    Greens

  • Goal: 14 servings
  • Total: 9 1/2 servings
  • Did not meet goal, short by 5 1/2 servings. This is probably why I ate things I shouldn’t. It is hard to eat junk when you are full on greens. Plus they squelch my cravings since they are feeding my body the nutrients I need. Therefore I am not “starving” for nourishment. I didn’t take any kelp for my thyroid either. I will make a stronger effort this upcoming week.

    Sauna

  • Goal: 1 hour 20 min
  • Total: 2 1/2 hours
  • Met goal, exceeded by 1 hour 10 min. This is actually just an extra goal, it wasn’t top priority, but I am glad I did it. My skin looks better & smells cleaner as a result.

    Fasting Blood Sugar

  • 89 (perfectly normal)
  • Blood Pressure
81/51 LOW! I have always had low blood pressure, but I have been noticing a decrease over the years. However, this almost seems too low. I measured my blood pressure about an hour after doing vigorous exercise and 25 minutes in the sauna. I am not too sure if that contributed to the low number. According to Wikipedia my reading classifies as “hypotension”. When I read some of the symptoms I have to admit that I am cold. However, that may be due to my low body temperature from dealing with hypothyroidism. Aside from that I do not experience any other symptoms. Perhaps this was an inaccurate reading. I took it at a local drug store that carried a machine that self operates. Who knows. The best way to find out is to keep taking readings and see what happens.

    Pulse
    64
    PH
    slightly acidic
    Week 2 Goal
My goal is to incorporate more yoga, begin a purification program, & go high greens.

Don’t you think this level of diet obsession is a bit unhealthy? I worried there might be some anorexia issues lurking behind all the kelp. That said you look fine!

      Hi Charlotte,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I know I am not obese and I hardly think I am expressing anorexic behaviors. I really am moving to a higher level of health. It’s more about health than weight loss which is just one aspect that is highlighted here. I hardly think that super hydration, greens and exercise is obsessive or unhealthy. We are designed to have plenty of that in our lives. My diet consisted of other things beyond the goal of 2 bunches of greens a day, but my focus was on getting those basics into my life. I feel they are the basic building blocks. As far as the kelp goes I didn’t get any in this past week, but I know I need it. Growing up iodine was never in my diet. I also was exposed highly to chlorinated water as well as lots of flouride (my mom was in the dental field and very concerned about getting enough flouride) which are both shown to wreak havoc on the thyroid. I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I feel I’d rather heal my thyroid naturally than with synthetic medications that just force the thyroid to do what it isn’t. I’d rather strengthen my thyroid so it can function properly on it’s own someday.

Perhaps, I come across too critical, but I actually am feeling pretty good about my body. I know its is just slight tweaking that I want to do. Perhaps I should express more appreciation for what I already have in my videos. Again, thank you for your thoughts. :)
