Elephants Unwelcome In South Africa And Are Marked For Death

elephant surge 01 Elephants Unwelcome In South Africa And Are Marked For Death

South Africa looks at their growing population of Elephants as giant rats who need to be controlled. This giant rat population has now been official marked for death and the shooting season is open for all the big game hunters out there. The good old times are back, right? How crazy is this? Can South Africa really be sliding back down the wrong side of history? They seem to be very short sighted when it comes to cleaning up their country and improving the lives of their human and animal populations.

Elephants live in very complex family groups. Killing family members at random is not only cruel, but destroys the natural learning and maturing process for the surviving members. When the oldest largest members are killed, they die with vast amount of knowledge, the younger generation needs, to survive. It’s even been shown in studies, younger elephants seem to go a little crazy from the anxiety of not being guided by senior members of the family.

David Letterman Joins Telsa Motors As Pitchman

Looks like David Letterman is so mad at GM and the other big automakers, he has decided to support Tesla. He goes on and on about how he loves the first Tesla car and even rolls out the new prototype sedan, The Model S. Tesla’s Chairman, Elon Musk gives credit to the documentary Who Killed The Electric Car, for bringing a spotlight to the demand for electric cars. Musk said ” When was the last time anyone cared about the death of a GM vehicle?” He was talking about GM killing off the EV1 electric car, to make way for the Hummer Beast Line of vehicles. Which have now been killed off as well.

Elon, couldn’t have paid David enough for this type of endorsement. I am sure being on shows like Late Night and The Tonight Show, puts Tesla on the map in Washington D.C. Giving them a chance at some Government funds to make the Model S into a reality. From the news hitting the web over the last few weeks, the Model S is smoke and mirrors for now. They have a long way to go and their really is no way to price the car yet. The flat screen display on the dashboard would cost $7 on its own.

Fur Wearing Celebrities Run When They See Project Runway’s Tim Gunn

I had a few moments to catch up with Tim Gunn at the Bryant Park Hotel for his conference with PETA on the fur industry. Tim is an outspoken advocate for animals used in the fashion industry, and calls for responsibility and accountability from every single person using or wearing the skin of an animal – whether it is fur, leather, or wool.

env Hydrogen Motorcycle Undergoing Changes

env 003 env Hydrogen Motorcycle Undergoing Changes

What’s happening with the eagerly anticipated env? According to its website, the UK-created hydrogen cell motorcycle will be undergoing changes before the bike is ready for commercialization. What sort of changes? Most likely on the engineering side to make it “even better to ride and even easier to build”.

“But don’t worry,” assures the site, “the cool design won’t change.” Which hardly soothes this observer. It’s touted in the press as the “the first bike to be designed from the fuel cell outwards”, which to me means they designed the fuel cell and let the aesthetic take a back seat. Which explains why the env looks so funky. Kind of like a scooter. But I’ll cut them some slack here, since its “almost clearly clean” emissions are clearly the vehicle’s selling point.

Dark Days | Documentary About NYC Homeless Living Underground

First 10 Minutes of the film

I have decided to start looking at what might happen to the millions of people living on the economic edge. Those people living meager pay check to pay check. What will happen to them as even the low paying jobs begin to evaporate?

Here is a film which was made in the 2000, which features a community of homeless people living in the tunnel systems of New York City. A glimpse of life on the edge. The official Dark Days Website: palmpictures.com | Full film on youtube

via wikipedia

Dark Days is a documentary made by Marc Singer, a British filmmaker. The film follows a group of people living in an abandoned section of the New York City underground railway system, more precisely the area of the so called Freedom Tunnel. When he relocated from London to Manhattan, Marc Singer was struck by the number of homeless people he had seen throughout the city. Singer had befriended a good number of New York’s homeless and later, after hearing of people living underground in abandoned tunnel systems, he met and became close to a group of people living in The Freedom Tunnel community stretching north from Penn Station past Harlem. Media Watch | Rory Friedman (Skinny Bitch) Goes Head To Head On OReilly Factor

Bill O’Reilly invited our friend Rory Freedman on to his show to talk about the rejected Peta Ads. The ads show sexy women licking veggies, and make the statement that a meat based diet can lead to men become impotent. Bill also invited a pro-meat eating women to counter Rory. So, basically it was two people saying we are going to eat our meat, no matter what, but lets make a joke about Peta’s ads, which is basically what Peta wanted in the first place. Container City Provides Affordable Accommodations

container city 06 Container City Provides Affordable Accommodations

London’s Docklands. Those two words used to strike fear in my heart. I once worked for a television network in the Docklands, and the only transport link to our studio was the dreaded DLR (Dockland’s Light Railway). This computer-controlled light railway was stationary as often as it was moving, for reasons as inexplicable as “leaves on the track”. God, I miss England.

But with opening of the Jubilee Line several years ago, transport links to the area are much improved. Ditto for local housing.
