Ellen DeGeneres Breaks Her Drone Fever | Interview With Katie Couric

0 Ellen DeGeneres Breaks Her Drone Fever | Interview With Katie Couric

I knew Ellen DeGeneres was a pretty cool woman and had broken down unbelievable barriers to become one of America’s most like celebrities. But I had no idea she had gone Vegan. She explains to Katie Couric, how she just couldn’t fool herself any longer. She loves animals and the industrial food system just doesn’t. She even drops our friends Rory’s book (skinny bitch) as one of the sources of why she chose to become a vegan.

Also, she talks about a film everyone should see called Earthlings (watch it now free). A beautiful produced documentary narrated by Joaquin Phoenix. I must warn you, this film will change your view of Flesh Monkies, and not in a good way. Unless you yourself are deeply infected with Drone Fever, that is. If you think you might be infected, look for someone young to watch the film with. Someone maybe under the age of 7, you know someone who hasn’t been infected yet. Checkout their emotional response and try to mimic it if you can. If you start to feel real emotions, then you may just be on the road to recovery! Congratulations to you and congratulations to Ellen. She has just now became my favorite American Gay Woman Celebrity. Good bye Lindsay Lohan, hello Ellen! You rule girl!

Crazy Fun “G” Girl Sunny Breaks Down What Is In Her G-Purse

0 Crazy Fun G Girl Sunny Breaks Down What Is In Her G Purse

Written by Sunny Subramanian | Since I recently vlogged about how to stylishly rock vegan clothes and accessories, I figured it only made sense to post a video showing y’all how to veganize the inside of your handbag, too. It’s as easy as can be and there’s no excuse not to do it!

Get rid of those nasty leather wallets, those icky, cruel, animal-tested cosmetics, and pack your purse with all kinds of fun and useful vegan goodies.

About Sunny: I’m an über-girlie, compassionate beauty junkie. Cupcakes are my favorite fruit; I even wrote a song about them. I have a mating call that snagged me a husband. I speak Kittese … almost fluently. I love writing and blogging, and I’m beyond stoked to be a part of peta2’s blog posse.

Who knew Vegnews now is producing recipe videos. Well maybe you guys did, but it was a surprise to me, so I am posting one very cute video by Chloe Cascarelli. Who turns out to be the Food Networks winner of the Cupcake Wars. Yeah me too, I have no idea what that is. She whips up two quick, vegan dessert recipes for this past 4th of July. The first one is a Berry Cobbler, made with Strawberries and Blueberries. The second one is a Chocolate-Dipped Ice Cream Sandwich.

All of us here are big fans of VegNews Magazine, so head over there or pickup the latest issue at Whole Foods.

When You Need A Mobile Home But Hate Mobile Homes | The Canadian Mini Home

mini home 03 When You Need A Mobile Home But Hate Mobile Homes | The Canadian Mini Home

Pre-fab homes have been around for a while now, but here’s one worth watching on video. This design is called Mini Home, and as you can see, it’s well named. The design is basically a well-insulated trailer, with some smart design choices and green building materials. This trailer isn’t too different from a regular trailer you might find on a Texas lot, except for the materials and tasteful design. The one big difference is the cost. This trailer is coming in at $400 plus a square foot, which is amazingly high, even for a specialty trailer.

Here in L.A. the average house is coming in at $200 to $250 per square foot on the West Side, and the luxury ones are coming in at $350 to $500, depending on land cost and finishes. So, $400 for a small box is a lot. But with the economics aside, the idea is great and the intention is amazing. So, we hope the price can drop and the design expanded. We would love to see more sections working together to make up a whole house. Maybe two or three modules.

After the jump to the next page, there is a video by HGTV about the mini home. You get a full tour.

Sir David Attenborough Asks The Question: Can We Save Planet Earth?

Sir David Attenborough’s documentary Can We Save Planet Earth. The show presents potential solutions to global warming, followed by a panel discussion about the road ahead. Acknowledging the scientific consensus on the issue, the debate will steer clear of the pointless “skeptics vs. alarmist” angle and focus on what we can do as individuals, a nation and a species to avert the impacts of climate change.

Attenborough’s film lays out seven components of a sane response to global warming – strategies and targets from the household to big industries and government. But each one has implications, and many – like a growing reliance on nuclear power – are highly contentious. Our goal is to debate these strategies in a positive and constructive spirit: combating the paralysis of swirling fears with concrete ideas for informed action.”

SPECIAL GUESTS:

  • Bob Mills, Alberta Tory MP, Chair of the Standing Committee on the Environment and Sustainable Development
  • Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party
  • Terry Glavin, Author, Waiting for the Macaws
  • Mark Nantais, President, Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association
  • Glen Murray, Chair, National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy
  • Carl Sagan Warns Us About Global Warming Back in 1989 on CNN

In this five part video interview on CNN, Carl Sagan talks with Ted Turner about Global Warming, CO2 gas and the insane idea of nuclear war. He quickly illustrates how just a few hundred nuclear weapons would create a nuclear winter, which would not only destroy the nation on the receiving end of the bombs, but also the nation who launched them. All of this makes me think about how short term greed by the small number of people at the top, effects us all. Instead of using our minds and abilities to build a green future, we waste our time thinking of new ways to destroy the only planet we can call home.

For me, this video makes me reflect on the current focus of the green movement. Yes, organic food and cool modern green homes are important steps to a green future. But if we continue to turn a blind eye to the massive waste of human capital, money and resources in the pursuit of war, we won’t have a planet left, let alone a green one. Natalia Rose Makes The Case Why Everyone Should Go A Little Raw

Raw food author Natalia Rose lays out a case why even the biggest of the thick header drones amongst us should go a little raw. Her reasoning is, if they don’t they will start to fall apart, period. What does she suggest the drones should start with, juicing of course.

Processed People, You Really Are What You Eat

Lets all come clean here, for most of us, eating processed foods is a way of life. Practically from day one, we are fed something which has made it’s way through the factory food shaping machines. For most of us, it started innocently enough with our baby formula and then spontaneously moves on to weekly happy meals, which we chase down with gallons of Coke Cola. It’s so universally excepted, we never think twice about it and that is always when something goes wrong. When we stop asking questions and just take what is given us. This is what the new documentary Processed People is all about. The film takes an in-depth look at the history of the industry and the health crisis it has produced in billions of people around the world.

Some of the shocking facts from the film: Two hundred million Americans are overweight and 100 million are obese. More than 75 million Americans have high blood pressure. 24 million people are diabetic. Heart disease remains the No. 1 cause of death for men and women, followed by stroke and obesity-related cancers. Obesity has overtaken tobacco as the No. 1 cause of preventable deaths in the United States. Over 50% of bankruptcies are caused by what has become known as “medical debt.”

Processed People features interviews from nine preeminent health and environmental experts/advocates. They discuss how and why Americans got into this mess, and what we can do to break the “processed people” cycle. You see more about the film and even buy a dvd at the movies site, processedpeople.com
