I heart denim. From skinnies to high waisted, straight leg to boot cut, a cool pair of jeans (or thirty), are essential capsule wardrobe components for any serious fashionista. And now that there are so many fabulous organic varieties on offer, we don’t have to feel guilty about new purchases or hide them from our clueless husbands. Nor do we have to do much research, since the Alternative Consumer was kind enough to round up the top five must-buys for spring.
Del Forte Willow Short. If you’ve got good gams, show them off this spring. The Willow Shorts are — you guessed it — a short version of Del Forte’s best selling Willow Trouser. A higher waistline sets you apart from your trashy Daisy Duke low-rise counterparts. Available in urban “cielo” dark denim or resort-friendly white stretch denim.
Prairie Underground Denim Street Girdle. Seattle-based Prairie Underground prides themselves on being on the fashion’s cutting edge. And from the looks of things, their Denim Street Girdle is no exception. Unfortunately we can’t get a good looksy at the waistline… is it really a girdle? Because that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Linda Loudermilk’s 12” Jeans. L.A.’s own green goddess has come out with a low rise, flared leg jean that’s as forgiving as it is flattering. Back darts and a slim fit create a bootilicious backside, but having some room to maneuver make these a great daytime jean.
Good Society Slim Leg Jeans. Nothing screams hardcore jean lover more than a pair of Japanese denim. Every girl should have at least one. Utilizing organic cotton and eco-friendly dyes, this Good Society offering doesn’t disappoint. To pull them off however, (just like its namesake) you’re going to need slim legs.
Edun Twilight Jean in Raven. Can Bono’s peeps also do a great pair of denim? The answer is a resounding yes. The all-organic Twilight Jean is eco-chic to the max. These stretchy wide cut trousers with mid-rise waist and back notch are oh so sexy. Easily my pick of the bunch.
With guilt-free rocking of stylish eco denim, it sounds like we’re in for a great summer!
