Linda Loudermilk Promotes Water As Fashion
Posted By Sarah Backhouse On April 7, 2008 @ 11:17 am In G Living,Style / Fashion / Beauty | No Comments
If you care about water as much as Paris Hilton — the heiress makes a special effort to not leave it running when she leaves the house — you’d be a good candidate for Linda Loundermilk’s “Water is a Human Right” faucet necklace.
The LA-based ethical designer declares: “Water, like air, is essential to sustain life and maintain human dignity.” I can take it a step further and say that a lack of clean water is one of the largest public health issues of our time. In 2004, for example, a deficiency of clean water resulted in 2.2 million deaths — 9 out of 10 of these in children under five. Pretty sobering stats.
If you want to raise awareness about H2O, you can wear this pendant made from reclaimed silver, which features a weather-beaten faucet with a crystal drop of water. For each necklace sold, a generous donation will be made to the YEW foundation to support clean water initiatives.
The faucet necklace: a way to be water aware and fashionable too. I’m sure Paris would approve.
