San Francisco’s most heralded house legend returns to his hometown label to deliver a pristine mix performance. Unedited, this mix was recorded in one shot just as the show was performed overseas. Starting off with an inspirational track from Troydon and Decosta, “NY Minute,” the smooth chords and funky horn hits foreshadow the mood of the mix.
Each track keeps the forward movement with R&B-styled vocals, Latin speeches and a solid low-end drive. Fender Rhodes and acoustic horns prevail as an underlying element, while several disco outtakes color up the progression. Containing tracks from DJ Sneak, Blakkat, Greenskeepers, Leon Louder and Jake Childs, the underground house heads out there are sure to rejoice.
