There should be awards for award shows. For example, the coolest music awards? The Brit Awards, natch. Best schaudenfraude awards? The Razzies. (Now we’ll never forget “Gigli”.) Most irritating? The CMT awards. All that crooning and yodeling gets under my skin.
Here’s a new one for you: Let’s call it The Longest Award Show Title award. I’m talking about The 8th Annual Designing A Sustainable and Secure World Awards.
It’s happened on December 3rd at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel at New York City’s Battery Park. Hosted by Global Green USA, the awards “recognize the tremendous advancements in industry, building, media and public policy that move the world toward a sustainable and secure future.”

So, what does a dinner ticket at $500 (minimum) buy you? Cocktails, dinner and the chance to rub shoulders with Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Kyra Sedgwick, Josh Lucas, Parker Posey and Josie Maran (yeah, I had to IMDB her, too).
Good on Global Green for spinning the award shows to make a difference to the world. If you ever feel the urge to be at one of Global Green’s award shows in person and don’t mind nosebleed seats to witness the cash for awards exchange, then check out their event schedule at globalgreen.org.

The photos are not of the show, we couldn’t seem to find any. So we found some of Global Green and Yahoo’s, Hybrid Taxi launch in NYC. Also one of Brad Pitt and Global Green’s CEO in New Orleans. They are working together on a project to rebuild the lower 9th green and free. So good stuff all around.
