Organic Rush | Rushing To Pasadena
Posted By Sarah Backhouse On February 20, 2009 @ 11:21 pm In Interior Design / Home Stuff | No Comments
Pasadena first entered my consciousness back in 2004 with the release of the Scissor Sisters’ song “Music is the Victim”. The verse opens thus: “I left my bag in Pasadena / Where all them girls was doin’…” The rest of the line spirals into drug references which probably aren’t appropriate here. Suffice it to say, apart from that song and the Rose Bowl flea markets, there isn’t whole lot going on in this North East pocket of Los Angeles. Residents of Pasadena can go ahead and send hate mail to me c/o G Living. But before you do, read on…
…Because now — call me fickle — I can’t wait to go to Pasadena. Why? Because I’m crushing on their eco-store, Organic Rush. It’s jammed packed (in a minimalistic, ordered fashion) with every natural, organic and environmentally friendly product imaginable. Love that they have the erbaviva line of baby care products as well as sweet pea cleaners. There’s nothing like the arrival of a newborn to really get us looking after ourselves and the planet.
Upon glancing at the website, it seems the women’s wear and men’s wear collections need expanding (unless you like wandering around in a robe all day – hey, it works for Hef), but the store’s in its fledgling stages. I suspect there’s more stuff to come.
Organic Rush also has a varied selection of books, teas, bamboo cutting boards, picture frames made out of reclaimed boats and organic baby blankets — all of which would make great gifts for any loved ones.
Organic Rush. Proof that the 110 highway does lead somewhere. Just don’t forget your reusable organic cotton bag.
