Vegan chic? Sounds like a misnomer but guess again. Enter NYC-based Moo Shoes, an online boutique that offers a broad range of cruelty-free, fashion-forward shoes, belts, clothing. I discovered them after a two-year search for stylin’ faux leather boots and fell in love instead with a few of their retro-inspired pumps and multi-toned sneakers. Sisters Erica and Sara Kubersky founded the business in 2001, where their first on-the-ground boutique was ironically located in a former butcher shop! They’ve since moved to a spot in lower East Manhattan, but will ship products virtually anywhere by UPS. Lots available for guys and dolls alike at surpringly affordable prices.
Mineral Makeup is the hottest new trend in Makeup Fashion. From MAC to Urban Decay, Physicians Formula, Bare Escentuals, Jane Iredale, everyone seems to be offering mineral lines now. People love the purity, versatility, and lightness of the makeup. It doesn’t feel like you have anything on, it’s not heavy or oily like standard makeup. It doesn’t clog the pores or need any chemicals or preservatives that can cause skin reactions, breakouts and health concerns. The purist products are pure crushed minerals with nothing added. NY Times recently reported on this new Beauty Trend:
Paint the town green with accessories made from recycled inner tube tires. Hardly any new resources used, and the old inner tubes come from discarded truck and tractor tires – which usually have around 60,000 miles on them before Heather English saves ‘em from landfills. Jay McCarrol Winner of “Project Runway”
Sign the fur-free pledge and you’ll be automatically entered to win a trip for two (including airfare, lodging, and tickets) to join Jay McCarroll in New York City at his fur-free fashion show on September 15, sponsored by The Humane Society of the United States!
Wearing fur or fur trim is cruel and unnecessary. Help save foxes, rabbits, and other furbearers from suffering in the name of “fashion” by signing the fur-free pledge. Whether caught in steel traps in the wild or anally electrocuted after life in a cage on a fur farm, these animals suffer immensely. When compassionate consumers like you take a stand against cruelty by refusing to purchase fur or fur trim, designers will stop using fur, retailers will stop selling it, and fashion writers will stop reporting on it as an acceptable trend. You have that power with every purchase you make.

RUSSIANS BAN MICROWAVE OVENS
After the World War II, the Russians also experimented with microwave ovens. From 1957 up to recently, their research has been carried out mainly at the Institute of Radio Technology at Klinsk, Byelorussia. According to US researcher William Kopp, who gathered much of the results of Russian and German research – and was apparently prosecuted for doing so (J. Nat. Sci, 1998; 1:42-3) – the following effects were observed by Russian forensic teams:
Are you thinking about building a new home or you currently own a home? Well you should think seriously about adding a green roof. They do some amazing things. They clean the water coming off your roof when it rains, helping remove any pollution in the water, and they keep your house well insulated. They also help fight the heat island effect all major cities have. Normally to install a green roof, you need to install a pretty expensive and heavy system, but Toyota is looking to change all of that with a new grass roof tile system.
NFL may claim that they have the lowest prices on raw and living food products anywhere, Guaranteed! However, I don’t think they can compete with an Amazon.
For Cacao Powder for instance you can get 16oz of it from Nature’s First Law for $29.95. Or you can go to Amazon and get a 16oz bag of Organic Raw Cacao Powder for only $12.50. They also have 16oz bags of Organic Raw Cacao Nibs for $12.50.
You can buy 1 16oz bottle of Organic Raw Agave Nectar at NFL for $12.95. Or you can go to Amazon and buy 12 17oz bottles of Organic Raw Agave Nectar for only $33.75 That’s 204 oz or $0.16 cents an oz roughly vs $0.81 cents an oz from NFL.
I’m not trying to pick on NFL, but it just shows what great deals these are that you can find for these ingredients. It’s important because it helps to know that even some of the more indulgent recipes on GreenChefs can be affordable if you can find good sources for the ingredients. These are the best prices I’ve seen on Agave Nectar and Raw Cacao Powder. Health food stores near me that carry the 17oz bottles of Madhava Agave are about $7 each. With this deal they are less then $3 each.
There are many other great deals on Raw and Organic Food on Amazon that are a big saving from Whole Foods etc. I’ll highlight more good ones later. It’s worth checking out. They also offer Free Shipping and currently are offering $10 off any grocery order over $49. Use the code grocery2 when checking out.
