Raspberry Acai Shake(raw)

A pure superfood anti-oxidant shake to get the glow and help protect you from the harsh summer sun. Acai Berry (ah-sigh-ee) is the new hot superfood from the Brazilian Amazon gaining immense popularity in the U.S. as an energy drink. Sambazon makes these incredible frozen certified organic and fair trade acai packages that are ready to throw into your blender to make an instant acai shake. I prefer the pure frozen acai, but they also have the original one which includes organic sugar and the stimulating guarana extract, very popular in Brazil. They also have a powder form of the acai if you prefer a powder. Acai has a cocoa berry flavor that is rich yet subtle and has been claimed to have a higher antioxidant count then blueberry and pomegranate and 30x higher then red wine. It is also rich in essential omega fatty acids similar to olive oil. Combined with antioxidant rich raspberries, protein rich hemp seeds and potassium rich banana, this shake is not only packed with nutrition, it is simply delicious and refreshing. So break out your blender and whip this up! Of course you have all these ingredients already in your kitchen right? ; )

Raspberry Acai Shake:

1 Cup Pure Water

4 TB Hemp Seeds

2 TB Maple Syrup

1/2 Cup Fresh Orange Juice

1 Package Sambazon Pure Frozen Acai

1 Cup Frozen Raspberries

1 Frozen or Fresh Banana

Pinch of Sea Salt

Place the water and hemp seeds in your blender and blend on high speed until white and smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend on high again until fully smooth and broken down. Unless you have a super powerful blender like a Blendtec that will just pulverize the whole frozen acai bar, you’ll want to break it in pieces before putting it in your blender. You might need to let it thaw for about 10 minutes before you can break it apart or use a sharp knife to break it into pieces. If you decide to use the acai powder instead, it would be good to add a few ice cubes if you like it nice and cold in this summer heat. Enjoy!
