Ronni Kappos | Bohemian Rhapsody

Kerouac had it. So did Ginsberg. Puccini wrote an opera about it. Past residents of Montmartre in Paris or London’s Soho or East Village in Greenwich Village in NYC lived it. All the while struggling artists, writers and actors (that’s you, LA) are experiencing it everyday. I’m talking, of course, about the Bohemian lifestyle, which is fast becoming the hottest trend for fashionistas everywhere.
And you needn’t be impoverished; you can buy your way in.
LA jewerly designer Ronni Kappos sources her vintage beads from famed but long-defunct German glassworks in…Bohemia. (See — there was a pay-off to the long preamble.) Many of the rare beads date back to the ‘20s, ‘30s and ‘40s, ensuring that all of her designs are limited editions. Her latest acquisition — multi colored vintage glass edged with 24k gold — is the last of this exquisite material left in the world.
Her eponymous line, I. Ronni Kappos, consists of hundreds of variations of bracelets, necklaces and earrings that range from austere and minimal to ornate and elaborate. Drawing inspiration from architecture and modern art, Ronni’s vintage bead designs have garnered a celebrity fan base including Marc Jacobs, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Connelly.
So, whether you’re a bona fide struggling artist or a bourgeois Bohemian, go vintage and get your beads straight from the source.
