The Real G | Boise Goes On An Electric Car Date with Worm Tongue

When G Living told me I’d be cruising around with an actor named “Brad” in his electric car, I was like, “Whoa! I wonder if Angie and the kids’ll be in the back seat?”

“No,” they answered. “Not Brad Pitt. Brad Dourif.” I went to the Internet Movie Database to make sure I knew who they were talking about, and when I saw that the character actor had a amazingly diverse resume dating back to an Oscar-nominated performance in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, I was like, “Whoa! That’s even cooler than Brad Pitt!”

The ride was fun. And so was our chat, which extended far beyond movies and electric cars.

Re:volve Promotes Positive Social Messaging

Let’s face it: with a thick layer of negativity permeating the planet, we could all use a dose of positivity. Thankfully, we’ve got Re:volve working to create a better, more sustainable future.

The ethical clothing line debuted at LA’s uber trendy Fred Segal store late last year amid scores of flash bulbs and paparazzi. Socially conscious celebrities Amy Smart, Roger Cross and a camera-shy Anthony Kedis were among the supporters of this brand spanking new sustainable style endeavor from husband and wife design team Joe and Amy Tomlinson.

Parents of six, Joe and Amy were inspired by the lack of positive role models and positive images in pop culture. Rather than lament the status quo, they decided to get creative and do it to great effect.

Backstage at This Year’s “Green” Emmys

Throw in a few hybrid cars and reduced lighting and you’ve got yourself a “Green” awards show. At least that’s what FOX seemed to think when it launched its “Green with Emmy” campaign. I’ll admit, the effort itself was impressive. But is Hollywood really prepared to pull it off? At least without complaining?

Let’s start backstage in the press room. Noticeably absent this year was the generator-backed air flow unit that kept a room full of journalists from boiling over. I heard more than a few people say, “Who turned off the air back here?” Replaced instead by a plastic bag-looking mechanism that swelled up like a sausage (excuse my lack of expertise in alternative air flow vernacular). But brownie points for the CFL & LED lighting, which pleased Emmy award winner Al Gore. He said “The Emmys have gone green, and I want to give them credit for that. So, whatever lighting they used, they’re one step ahead.”
