From UCLA’s Sustainable Resource Center Director comes news of an important conference for water and environmental reform. Scheduled for Wednesday, November 14 and Thursday, November 15 at L.A.’s downtown Sheraton Hotel, the conference (dubbed From Sizzle to Substance) will examine the crucial connection between water resources and climate change.
While we’re all aware that our planet’s climate will become warmer during this century, the conference will explore the impact this change will have on California’s water supply and water quality, including our utility institutions. Obviously, the situation is catastrophic, but are there any advantages to explore? And are our local and Federal agencies prepared for the challenges?
Encouraged to attend the event are officials and staff at all levels of government; water agency officials; business, agricultural and environmental leaders; academics and students and members of the public with an interest in California water policy.
